AA-Rack X31 No-Drill Kit doesn't really fit a 5-foot Chevy Colorado bed, unless you move the rack to the middle. This makes the rack about 3 feet apart. The best option is to screw it on. The bed sides have a box area on all 4 corners, are approximately 8 inches long and the stand base is approximately 13 inches long. The problem is that the upper struts are attached with a bolt that only engages about 1/2 inch of the main strut support tubing. The upper baskets can be lifted and removed from the baskets. The bolt should be lowered about 2 inches to provide a better mounting surface. Plastic plugs are brittle and break easily. If you don't want to screw, get the X31 with 8 clips for $184. It's cheaper than buying the clips separately for around $55. I use them to pull 20-28 foot ladders. So far it has worked well as the posts are only 5ft apart and it supports 28ft ladders.
