I think it will rust when wet

I take it off before showering but hang it on the bathroom counter. It is not stored for a long time and is oxidized by steam. I'm trying to take better care of it now, I really like the necklace and have bought it more than once but wish it would last longer so I don't have to buy it again. I like to buy two charms and combine them for my daughters initials.

Besides being beautiful, the pendant is too small. To be honest, I had imagined them to be a bit bigger.
