I connected 2 of these to a Boss IMP2000 monoblock amplifier housed in a flat wedge shaped case. When I first installed and tested it, given all the great reviews on here, they didn't sound too impressive. Even when everything was upside down, they looked very weak. Let's just say I wasn't impressed. I tried playing around with the equalizer settings on my head unit but got nothing. A few days later I decided to drill a 1" hole in my case. I'm not exactly sure if it was the holes I drilled or if the subwoofer just needed hacking, but geez, these ones Things kicked pretty hard! I had to park the car because the sudden bass scared me to death. My amp had a remote controlled subwoofer level control so I turned it all the way down and tried again. Subsonic etc on my amp, one at a time about a quarter turn since I maxed them all out. To sum it up, these things hit, and hard. Allow a few days to break them in, and if you're installing a slim case, port it when it suits your taste is not loud enough.
