Perfect replacement for my OEM vent caps

In June 2019 I purchased one of these vent caps to replace one of the three original OEM roof caps on my 2011 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel RV. I bought two more in February 2020 to replace the other two vent covers. In all three cases, the original vent covers became brittle, cracked and broke due to deteriorating solar radiation. The new vent covers look like an exact replacement for the original covers. For the price they seem to be made of good materials and solid. To delay the inevitable wear and tear from sun exposure, I will be cleaning the new air vents regularly (3-4 times a year) and treating them with Aerospace 303. If you're interested, here's how I removed the old air vents and installed new ones: Removing and replacing the air vent covers is pretty easy and straightforward. The only caveat is not to damage the roof of the van and in my case the EPDM membrane above it. I suppose you also have to be careful not to damage the breather tube. Here's the process I used: 1) Cleaned up the area around the air vents. 2) Remove the top of the old air vent. 3) Remove the old overlapping sealant covering the base (underside) of the old vent. 4) Old base removed. (It was held in place with screws that had to be removed.) 5) Remove the old lap gasket. 6) Cleared the now open roof. 7) Apply a coat of sealant to the roof of the van, just around the vent pipe, by overlapping. , and ensure the existing screw holes are filled with overlapping caulk.8) Install the base of the new vent, making sure the overlapped caulk completely covers the underside of the base.9) Secure the base with screws. 10) Apply the new generously, especially on the screw heads and in the immediate vicinity of the base. from top to bottom of the vent. 13) Wait for the lap seal to settle, dry and cure.
