I think the unit itself is a bit big for a small dog. I have a 5 lb poodle and a 10 lb poodle. The 10lb size is ok but I still wish it could be smaller. For a 5 pound dog, that is very large. I've bought an Elegance Mini before but it didn't seem to work at all on my 5lb dog (not sure if her bark was quiet enough). to make it work). The mini was the PERFECT size for small dogs but I was afraid to order again as it didn't work (and I replaced one for a total of 3 minis). So to that. Device. It also seems finicky when it comes to beeps. I'm still trying different levels but even when my dogs shake their heads they beep. This is not good. So I lowered the sensitivity to a lower level and then it doesn't beep when they bark. I still haven't heard a peep from the 5 pound dog except when he shakes his head. I LOVE tines because they aren't tines but more like wings? You have to look at all the photos of the device to understand what I'm talking about. I also love the fact that it vibrates and DOES NOT SHOCK. To summarize this review I had 3 minis (love this size more) and then ordered this size. I wish the minis worked more consistently.
