I bought 1 just to see how this product is as there were a lot of negative reviews and I was glad the product has no chips, dents or imperfections and the instructions are not perfect I was able to complete the assembly alone in under an hour with only four hours of sleep the morning it arrived and then built it around 12:30am the next morning after returning home from work. Since the trial order worked, I ordered two more, which also arrived in good condition with no defects or damage. I gradually built these two faster in about 35-45 minutes. TIPS: - Analyze what you do when you go, read the instructions, read the next steps to understand where you are going, where you are coming from. . Pay attention to the face of your panel to make sure you don't install it the wrong way round. In most cases your screws will go into the wood panels and not them, so you will find that some of the holes in the panels are beveled on one side. You have a Stanley screwdriver with interchangeable magnetic heads, and it easily found a snug fit for Phillips and pan head screws. This is important if you want to avoid stripping the screw head, which can make your assembly very frustrating. While I haven't tried it, I wouldn't recommend using an electric drill to drive the screws in, to avoid over-inserting or over-tightening that could damage the material. USE WEIGHT! During the entire process, mount the product on its side, either on the floor or on a table large enough for the full length of the tower, only standing upright when inserting the lazy susan screw at the bottom . USE WEIGHT! In STEP 2, insert wood dowels into just one E-plate instead of two, then read STEP 3 and place the assembly from STEP 1 and the 2nd F-plate onto your E-plate with dowels. Now insert the remaining 8 dowels into the corresponding holes of panel D and 2 panels F and place the 2nd panel E on the dowels. Just be patient and move at your own pace. PROS: - Cheap - it was easy for me to assemble. - Holds almost 2x more DVDs and Blu-rays than my old towers and takes up just a little more space. Visually appealing. They don't seem too ruthless once loaded. maybe a picture. - Works on short/regular carpets, I imagine it will be difficult on deeper carpets that are on the shaggy side. - Although the instructions are not perfect and could be better, the pictures are clear enough to give you a clear idea and understanding of what is happening. More than some instructions I've seen in the past. CONS: - Low cost means cheap materials, be careful and as long as there are no flaws you're fine. - There is an issue with over tightening the lazy Susan screw on the bottom. I feel like they really should have made an insert with a machine screw for this instead of forcing the customer to use a wood screw. - Lazy Susan is made of plastic with metal bearings and while the product doesn't support outstanding weight, I'd happily pay $10 more for a nice solid piece of metal instead of plastic. It's good that the plastic isn't very flimsy, but plastic is still plastic and I'm worried about durability.
