I recently got a Macbook Pro (2020 with an Intel chip) for my new job and needed a docking station to connect my monitors. My old Macbook came with a dock so I looked for one as I've never had problems with one that doesn't seem to be available anymore (Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock HD). This one seemed the closest to me port-wise, so I chose it. Not worth it for the money. No dock is worth $250. I used mine for $150 which was a lot more reasonable but still overpriced for a docking station. All ports seem to work. Except for the audio in/out port. I plugged in my speakers and my laptop didn't recognize that they were plugged in. So I connected them directly to the Macbook, but that defeats the purpose of a dock. dissatisfied with it. USB works perfectly. I had no trouble waking from sleep (I also have 11.4 so they may have fixed that). I was also not pleased that the dock only has DisplayPort and no HDMI, so I had to purchase additional adapters to work with my monitors. The design is just okay. Why is the Thunderbolt port on the front? The cable, which was fixed at a 90-degree angle with a Thunderbolt adapter, protruded through the front layer. Why isn't there an audio jack on the back? Docks should be as streamlined and unobtrusive as possible, in my opinion, and those two little things just don't add up. Also, a horrible ultra-high pitched sound comes out regularly. It will last for a whole day and start again the next day for a few hours. Also this only happens when the macbook is connected to the dock, if it makes a sound and I unplug the cable from the macbook it stops. It's very annoying and to be honest my right ear hurts just listening to the audio for a few minutes (the dock is to the right of my desk). I've only seen a few reviews mentioning this so I'm either young enough to hear this or I have a faulty unit. Overall it works, but there are so many flaws that I'm starting to regret my decision. buy this one. At least I got it cheaper than usual.
