Review on Toshiba P300 500GB Desktop SATA 6Gb/s 7200rpm Internal Hard Drive - 3.5 Inch by Douglas Norton

Hard drives can be difficult to inspect because a lot of what makes a drive good or bad is its durability. I bought 4 of these drives to upgrade an old NAS with 4 x 2TB drives. I've been using them for a few weeks now and am happy with the performance. The last time I built a NAS, one of the hard drives failed right away, so I'm glad they're all working. Speed is what I expected from my NAS. If I experience premature drive failures I will update this review. Other than that, it's a pretty good drive for the price and works great in my Synology NAS. Recommended.**==** UPDATE 2016-12-11 **==**With low usage, one of the four drives has already failed. I understand that hard drives fail from time to time, so that didn't bother me as much as the cost of sending the hard drive back to Toshiba for a refund. Shame on Toshiba for not picking up delivery of a product that only took 4 months.
