This bookcase is very easy to assemble; especially with a cordless drill. In general, the device makes a pretty solid impression, especially for its price. The back is made of thin material, but there are instructions and tools to help fix the problem a bit. I have only 2 cons with this device. One of the corners was messed up, but luckily it's the bottom corner so it doesn't spoil the look of the device and is small enough not to affect the balance. Another problem I had was the building instructions. Step 3 shows how the screws go in the 2 outer holes on either side; but actually they go in 2 holes. At first I tried to follow the instructions, but then I realized that the nails would stick out and the parts of the appliance would not lie flush on top of each other. I have a small odd wall space that this unit fits perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for to organize my makeup. Birchbox boxes and ipsy bags fit with a slight overhang.
