I had no reason to buy this item as we have all kinds of gaskets hereabouts. However, they don't glow and that's what convinced me that I need to own this product. It's by my bed and I use it to plug in my phone and MacBook charger. The blue light (why I had to buy it) illuminates the room just enough for me to see if I wake up at night. The only complaint I have is that I had to place a heavy book on the back to keep it from falling. I have an old MacBook and the charger is big and bulky but that alone is confusing. A weighted bottom would be nice, but there's nothing a heavy textbook can't fix.
