I thought it would be good for wired headphones on a new iPhone that doesn't work; have an audio jack (Dang Apple is a bad decision). This works exactly as expected with my Bose and Apple headphones, but I'm afraid it will damage the connector if I use it in a holster. The phone's lightning port wobbles and blows too hard. I think it would be fine in a bag with a key on top. I won't use it every day.
