Works as a wired and wireless bridge but may slow down your connection.

When I upgraded my internet service, I found that my printer does not work well with the latest wireless modes (802.11n and 802.11ac) on the new router. Rather than buying a new printer, I bought it to connect/connect the printer's ethernet/cable to the router's wireless network. It works great for this purpose and I'm happy with it as it doesn't require a lot of speed to print. However, when I tested the DL/UL internet speed on my laptop before plugging in the printer, I noticed that I could only get 1/3 the speed (70-100Mbps range) when using this device ( [Laptop]---Ethernet-- - >[D-Link]---802.11ac--->[Router]). I typically get 300Mbps with a direct 802.11ac connection to my router. I know enough about networks that I didn't follow the instructions for using the D-Link app to set up the device; Therefore I cannot judge the technical support. One more thing: I am NOT very upset when my WPA2 encryption key is shown unmasked/obscured in nice big clear fonts for everyone to see after logging into the web config. Interface.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Speed
