I decided to take a plant-based protein supplement because whey powder was upsetting my stomach. It was one of the few complete protein options that includes both pea and brown rice proteins in one formula and is free of artificial ingredients and added sugars. So as far as the health profile goes, this is a 5 star powder that keeps my stomach in good shape. I do not agree with the product, so it is tasteful. I didn't expect it to taste great to begin with, it has no flavor after all and I've tried many unflavored powders in my time. Unlike other reviewers, I found the flavor overwhelming no matter what was mixed into it. My main goal when buying unflavored products is to avoid sugar entirely, so having to add a number of other things to mask a strong off-flavor certainly seems counterproductive. For me, pure protein is the most important factor, so I don't mind drinking it like tequila, but if you're sensitive to bad flavors and/or are looking for something that tastes decent and pairs well with other ingredients, this probably is not the case. UPDATE: After a few months of regular use, I became more and more accustomed to the taste of this protein and no longer had the same reflex response to it as during the initial testing phase. I've tried different fruit and vegetable mixes and found that a simple banana and cocoa powder recipe is the best combination to take peas a notch higher.
