I used this heating pad for a stray cat that settled in my garage. I would turn it on at night and turn it off in the morning. So one morning I noticed a strange smell in my garage. It smelled like something was on fire. The cat was behaving strangely - he avoided his sleeping place. I found his heating pad was very hot, much hotter than it should be, and the plastic was melting into this shapeless shape. Apparently there was some kind of short circuit inside the device. I immediately turned it off and thanked my lucky star that this heating pad didn't burn my house down. I do not recommend this product at all.
