This was the only device I could find with Toslink I/O. Nice little device that saves you the hassle of changing Toslink (optical cable) every time you're not using it for karaoke. The quality of the microphone is acceptable. Microphones could be better for the price. You have to be very close to the mic to sound right. The microphone shows the battery level, which is a great feature, but the quality of the microphone is not impressive. You must always keep the device turned on to play the sound from the TV when not in use for karaoke. A bypass switch would be a great solution to bypass TV audio to a music system when a karaoke system is not needed. While you can control the volume of the music system/TV with the remote, you have to go to the device to turn it on or off. each time due to the lack of a remote or bypass switch. While it's a bit pricey for its price, overall I recommend this device if you're looking for a hassle-free Toslink I/O connection. Bluetooth connectivity would be nice to have, but I opted to use an external Bluetooth receiver. Although I would like it built into the block.
