First, don't buy pointe shoes for your kids unless they're trained to wear them. All in all a pretty good shoe for the price, great with a suit, maybe classy and definitely a break on the wallet compared to $100 shoes that you wear after a few weeks. A fairly large platform and a very wide and high profile. I was advised to order a size up but it turned out to be too big. Update: The shoe broke in a very strange way, so out of curiosity I cut it open and protested a bit. All shoes are mostly made of plastic. The shaft is a 1 inch wide piece of hard plastic sandwiched between cardboard. The sock consists of 3 plastic sheets stacked on top of each other. Really interesting design but it doesn't really conform to your foot.
