Don't expect miracles

If you're looking for a fun little addition to your photo fun kit, this might be cool. If you want professional macro photography or wide-angle shots, then this isn't for you. The macro makes a decent record, but you have to get really close (hence the light issue). A wide angle is cool, but only wide enough so that you don't lose the corners of the picture. If I put this on my kit lens and zoomed out to 18mm (which would theoretically give a focal length of 8mm {not to mention the crop factor}) then I lose about 10% of the image to vignetting in the corners. . It also has a problem focusing on anything near the edges. Even if you're shooting something on a flat plane, elements to the left or right of center will be out of focus. Like I said, he's fun to play with. And you can get some really cool shots. But be aware of its shortcomings and work around them. Of course, this is much cheaper than buying a macro lens and a wide-angle lens. We're talking $50 vs $600+.
