So I was looking for a better and more comfortable balaclava to wear during the winter months while guarding the graveyard. I'm often outside and don't like handling hats because they irritate the scalp and don't cover the ears and neck. I purchased this fleece balaclava and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was and how it completely covered my large bulbous head, stupid ears and neck! Now I don't have to fiddle around trying to pull a hat over my ears every 15 minutes or wear leggings/scarves that are too skinny or too small to cover my large head. One thing I would like to emphasize about this particular balaclava is that its shape is snug but not too tight and constricts the face, just enough to keep those pesky cold air pockets out. It also has an extra layer that runs around the neck and face (bottom layer) that provides extra warmth and weather protection. The drawstrings are an added bonus, allowing you to lower the top of the hood over your forehead and eyebrows. And stays in place. Overall I think this balaclava is amazing and I wish I had had it years ago! The only downside to this hood would be that it feels a bit flimsy, but it kept me warm in the 40 degrees all night and it was light and comfortable, not bulky.
