In the 10 days we had, our 12-year-old cat, whom we rescued from a shelter 7 years ago, spent probably 20 hours a day (literally) in a sunny window. Maybe more. She sat like that for hours, looking out the south-facing window in the living room, perched precariously on the hard, narrow windowsill (when she wasn't sulking in the basement). And she screamed and screamed and whimpered and screamed to get out. It has fallen off once in a few hours since we hung it up. But if you follow the instructions carefully - use rubbing alcohol on the spots where the suction cups are - you'll be fine. Yes, it looks pretty tasteless. Especially when you add the two included cat toys. And the curtains look really silly but the cats love being behind them. yes, we spoil it completely. At least it's not the front window, so only a group of neighbors should be able to see it! But that window seat has kept our 8 lb old girl from going outside and she is again the friendly little "love bug" of the shelter staff. called her.
