Holds the battery as intended. However, if I had known the design better, I probably wouldn't have bought it. You need to thread it through the Velcro on the back. My strap next to the camera (where I wanted the battery) is very thin. That meant the fall was very big for that area. It's inconvenient to take it off and put it on the camera strap, so I just left it. The part holding the dough is folded to the back, or the same side where the ribbon is attached. Since I had this on a thin strap, the strap actually exposed the part that holds the battery a few times so I had to be careful not to lose the battery.
