Ships flat despite the clear bold label 'THIS END UP'. I let it sit for 24 hours before turning it on. The outer packaging is damaged and rough. SETPOWER AJ40 does not look damaged. The small plastic plug for one of the screw holes for attaching the handle is missing (not needed). The instruction manual is written in broken English and is almost unusable. It mentions disabling low battery and setting hi, medium, low, but DOES NOT mention how to set that setting. There are instructions on how to change degrees Celsius/Fahrenheit, but they are WRONG. I received answers from Revain's questions section. The device looks good, new. "When running on AC power, it lasted 2-4° (eco mode) at 94° on the porch (cooler and contents pre-chilled/frozen) for 6 hours. The block is quiet. Seems like a fair deal at $269. "DC operation not tested yet. Update October 2020: The device has been hardwired to 12 volts for several (3-4) months in 24/7 operation (only without battery). I am very happy with the device. The power consumption is low. Sometimes it consumes up to 40-45 watts, depending on the temperature, content and running time. When working in ECO mode, I leave the blanket on the lid. Unit is set to 16°FNO PROBLEMS. Very quiet. I would buy it again for the price (with coupon) of 269€. UPDATE: May 2021 No problem. It works continuously either from the solar battery/battery or from a network.
