A few tips for people with connection issues and a quick review

I'll write a quick review in case anyone stumbles across this. If you recently bought a watch - say September 2015. The watch is NOT defective. The problem with the connection loss and the battery draining quickly is due to the fact that the clock itself has not updated. And the latest version of Android Wear that you download on your smartphone will have problems with this watch if the operating system is not up to date. To fix this problem, you need to uninstall Android Wear. Find an older Wear .apk file (maybe try: http www apkmirror com/apk/google-inc/android-wear), download and install it manually (you need to allow unsigned apps in settings ). Once you've done that, completely reset your watch at the bottom of the options menu. Pair it with the old Wear app. Once you do that, you will find that an update is available for the clock. It took about 20-30 minutes after pairing for my watch to notice the update. DO THAT. You can then update your Wear. And at the time of writing this article, the Wear program has been updated again, so all these "instructions" may be meaningless. Anyway, just thought I'd try to help. As for my actual rating? I will be brief as many before me have spoken about it at length. The watch itself is functional and gives warnings as expected. Once you've played around with the OS and Wear compatibility, it works flawlessly. I got through a full day with about 50% battery and heavy use. My biggest issue with this product (I bought a black watch with black leather) was that it looks plastic. A colleague of mine has an all metal version and I have to say it looks like a product you will pay $150-$200 for. This. looks like it should cost $80 max. The skin started to crack after ONE WEEK. I'm not sure what the problem with that was. The buckle of this strap is made of plastic, which does not improve the picture. I know that the case, although painted black, is metal. I just can't get over how cheap the product looks and if I were to buy it again (returned due to a leather issue) I would take the metal face and put in a third party leather strap and hopefully a much higher quality. Much luck!
