Review on πŸ“ Precision at Your Fingertips: Crescent Lufkin Chrome Yellow Measure by Nathan Akers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Case looks like hard plastic, matte tape is easy to read, lots of useful markings and features

What I like best about this 25ft tape measure is that the front of the ruler is matte, relieved reading without glare. Unlike this brand of Lufkin, my other tape measures have a glossy finish that makes it difficult if not impossible to read in bright light or sunlight. What I dislike most about this tape measure is the horrible and consumer-unfriendly way of attaching it to the label it appeared on, which was incredibly difficult to remove (and I used heavy-duty specialty scissors). The metal clip of the tape measure case is very durable and reliable. The outer case feels solid and looks metallic at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, I think the actual material resembles the metallic looking plastic that cheaper sink faucets are made of, which is a little disappointing. The product description should indicate that the case is chrome-plated, more precisely (imitation?) chrome-plated plastic. every 19.2 inches, indicated by small black diamonds; - 16" spacing to indicate standard body bolt spacing, denoted by a red rounded square with a pointed top and bottom: - Nail and screw slot on silver. grab tongue / hook at the beginning of the strap; - the (non-magnetized) hook is notched, allowing a user who does not have a pen or pencil to press it into (wood) for an impromptu mark; - each foot measurement has a red color "1, 2, 3, 4, 5". marked above; - There are standard "1 foot, 2 foot, 3 foot". markings in black round squares with pointed top and bottom ends; The roulette wheel may have more features/marks but I noticed the above. Pull out more ribbons. I had to manually feed the tape back into the case until it was about 18ft 6"-19ft out. At this point, the tape began to pull itself back into the case. Despite the confusion over the material of the case, and almost despite the extremely laborious nature of attaching the tape measure to a hard plastic tag, I like everything else about this tape measure and give it a solid 4 stars. Thank you for reading.
