Deep grooves and pits in mortar and pestle
The polished parts are good and this is just the size I need. However, the working parts of the mortar and pestle have deep grooves (see photo). There are three holes in the mortar, one large enough to hide the cumin seeds. When you crush seeds, you lose a significant amount of seeds in the grooves and indentations. In addition, it is difficult to clean. I have another, larger, mortar and pestle, which of course aren't as pretty, but I also understand that they're much better finished. I'll grind the pestle and the inside of the mortar to get this little guy working.
