Don't stay on the dashboard!?

This tablet holder works great on my windshield, but unfortunately I can't stick to the dashboard as I want. I did everything I could think of to try and keep it on the dash to no avail. I even removed and reinserted the phone holder but still no luck. I didn't read the reviews beforehand that I need it for ridesharing. So I'm not sure if others had the same problem.
