Let me first say that my experience was bad from the start, it's not even convenient or easy to set up from the phone! If you don't want to download their app and just use your browser to install it, this is an absolute nightmare. The website they build is not mobile friendly and you can only click on the inputs/buttons in landscape mode. On top of that, it also has those popups and modals that cannot be closed, blocking inputs and buttons in landscape mode! After it was finally set up and working, it was time for the speed test. I plugged it in next to my computer desk which is in a different room from the router but still gets great signal strength so the extender had to have a very strong connection as well. When connected to an expander, the lowering speed was 1/5 and the lifting speed was 1/3. Not great, but definitely workable because I moved it to another room where I could only do light surfing and some 1080p Netflix/streaming. It worked quite well for the first 2 days, but then no device could connect anymore. The SSID periodically popped up and then disappeared from WiFi lists on several devices I tested. And when it appeared in the Wi-Fi list, nothing could actually be connected to it. When checking the extension cord, all the bulbs indicated the presence of 2,4 and 5 and nothing out of the ordinary. Only after disconnecting and reconnecting did it work again. Please note that everything is fine with the router and all devices directly connected to the router worked without interruption. The above problem is happening every 1-2 days now and only seems to be solved by disconnecting from the network. and connect it again. Very frustrating and I don't intend to make it a part of my daily routine.
