I ordered this protection over other headbands which was more like a sweat headband for my daughter who suffered a concussion after many headbutts in the game. She plays center and defenders and instinctively uses her head when playing defensively. She can both head and kick the ball. Unfortunately, with all of the research on concussion and post-concussion syndrome, we've decided it needs some protection. It's not ideal because studies don't provide results on whether these bandages prevent concussions. However, I think it helps. She played one-on-one with another player and prudently skipped the rest of the game. She wore a headdress and had no persistent headaches the next day. It also provides some protection for the temple. I only gave the product 4 stars because I don't think it can prevent all types of concussions that can happen while gaming. As for playing with him, she's getting used to him. At first she felt it affected her ability to head the ball into the net on the corner because it affected her direction. But wearing it in practice helped because she was cornering. She also said her forehead was cracked, but now we wash it with cold water and mild soap.
