I am a gourmet with over 2200 participants from 83 countries. I love cooking, especially meat dishes, and when I heard about sous vide from a friend I wanted to try it. It arrived fairly quickly after ordering from Revain but soon found that a set of vacuum bags was needed before you could use it. I wish it was part of the kit itself as it took me a while to get it. I experimented with chicken, beef and pork and found that the taste of the meat was something no one had tasted before. It was so natural and juicy. Of course I've tried both: cooking raw with sous vide and then searing and decorating, and marinating, searing and then sous vide. Both methods work well. I have yet to try shrimp, fish and crab, but it will be soon. This type of cooking requires its own accessories, i.e. a vacuum set and a deep vessel, as well as a nearby electrical outlet. Since it was new, it has not yet found a place in the kitchen, but it will certainly find its place in the kitchen as we get used to this natural way of cooking. I wish it had a hook so we could hang it on the wall for easy access. Overall 4 out of 5 stars.
