Review on 🔥 Spectra Premium 93069 Heater: Enhancing Heat Performance and Efficiency by Anthony Heinrichs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit but you will curse the Jeep engineers for doing this job!

Spectra Premium Heater Core 93069 matched our 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo perfectly. It arrived in perfect condition and snapped straight into place. The foam prevents rattling and also allows air to flow through the core and not get in at its edges. However, Jeep should be ashamed that it is so difficult to replace such a breakable part. Replacing this part involves draining the air conditioning refrigerant, removing the steering column, center console, ENTIRE dash and finally the HVAC unit. Then the old heating core simply slides out with 3 additional screws. :-( This is a job that would cost you a few hundred dollars to do in the shop. Make sure to fix the air leaks in the air conditioning duct while you take everything apart. I've attached a picture of mine - Adhesive gasket which I installed to replace the rotten/missing factory foam gaskets which allowed most of the air to pass under the dash and not through the vents (for these on the Revain) and made a HUGE difference in the amount of air exiting all the dash vents I was able to remove the old foam tape from the case and then continued cleaning the surfaces with rubbing alcohol and paper towel until the cloth was clean. The 2nd position does a good job.If you are unsure if you are up for this job I recommend Urge you to check out the YouTube video posted by brianmobile1 titled Grand Chero kee Heater Core Removal High Detail below he https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvdhusnuFUU to get to the heater core. A NOTICE. There is a screw that is almost directly above the steering shaft. In the video it looks like a bolt mounted on a firewall, but it's a bolt that goes straight down to the top of the dash. Please. ;-) (It took me a while to find it. You'll have to lower your head to the pedals to see it.)
