original (4-star) rating. Overall a great tablet. Problem with a battery (see below). So far here are the observations from the box: - Looks like a new product, but did you notice the remains of the "painting tape"? on the back of the tablet. The included tablet case is very minimal (think flimsy plastic material). The paint had chipped off in some places. - the included capacitive pen turned out to be a real ballpoint pen too (a nice little surprise) made out of lightweight aluminum - the product description states a 2 year guarantee. However, the tablet box includes registration instructions for a "lifetime warranty" if you register within 14 days of waiting for the Android 10 screen protector with security update 6/20 to be applied immediately. nothing newer. Some hardware and tablet test apps look as advertised. CPU: 8-Core ARM Cortex-A55 (4@1.2GHz + 4@1.6GHz) rev r1p0GPU: PowerVR Rogue GE8322 (Imagine Technologies) Apps vary in screen resolution, but most claim it's HDPI@ 1920 x 1200 (useful 1848 x 1200) and 240 DPI. Note: Screen touch tests report halftone dot values that match this resolution. WiFi only works on 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz). but it is in the product description. RAM 4G, storage 64G. It looks like these are "marketing" sizes (compared to actual MBs). but close enough. The tablet feels light (unlike some other brands that are much heavier). The metal case makes a robust impression. Noticed that the tablet's download and settings have a link to "phone" in several places. In the settings there is also the option to download a local file update. Moderate gaming - NOVA Launcher initially had trouble launching but seems to be working now - most apps are fast and responsive - more demanding apps lag a bit. but tolerable as this is a budget tablet (a 10-core processor would be the next hardware level) - the included cover doubles as a kickstand. but not very stable. the slightest bump or touch of the screen will make it collapse - it would be nice to have a pen holder on the case as it comes with the tablet. A few points: - Battery is charged to 100% and then used to see how many hours of actual usage - Mixed reading, downloading, streaming, etc. went from 100% to 20% in 5 hours, also at 20 % battery charge Tablet switched off. tried to restart and got stuck on the flashing boot screen (with the Meberry logo). Luckily after reconnecting the charger and charging it turned on normally for 30-40 minutes. something relative. after the 2nd day, fully charge and use until the battery is about 6% when the tablet turns off again. But this time it restarted normally from the outlet. So maybe the battery just needs an initial glitch in use? - Added 128GB SD card (A2 V30) and formatted as internal storage - tablet complains about no SD card on boot but after a minute it seems to recognize and no more SD card issues - most apps open installed on the SD card and work properly. need to move those that aren't in the internal layout to work properly - are the speakers unbalanced? One speaker comes across as slightly louder than the other in HW testing - speakers are a little flat but otherwise acceptable - there's an FM radio. Melodies on the stations are ok. but the sound quality is more AM than FM
