Definitely light. I think I was hit in the face by a bug while riding, the insect easily penetrated the material. But no worry. The product is so loose that a breeze from brisk walking can blow it off my head/face. Maybe it would be better to get a paper cap and mask like those worn during surgery. I'm sure they will be just as durable.
