Face larger than expected

I bought this ring for my little finger. I thought 8mm was the size of the ring's face. The stone alone is 8mm or about a quarter of an inch. With an extra border around the stone you get 12mm or half an inch. Great for a normal ring finger but a little big for a pinky. Great price and I really had to wait for it to get here.
