Okay, like others have said they need some training to be fully effective. They don't seem to be moving as much as they are now, a week later, and are actually quite powerful. I'm using a Denon 950H/Klipch 5.2.2 Atmos system with 185 watts per channel. When I first started working with pickups, also known as buttkickers, I had to find a way to split my LFE channel into a mini amp via a Yrca cable for these TWO BUTTKICKERS that I put on my couch. The problem was, as a music lover, I didn't want my 12" Klipch subwoofers to be boomy because I love quality sound. So it took me about a week after watching almost 5-7 movies to fully tune these transducers to my subwoofers. I turned the gain control all the way down on my active sounds and set my receiver output to -10dB while my Buttkickers miniamp was crossed at the lowest setting of 20Hz but maxed out for that frequency (because it's only tuned to the screen can rumble if you don't take the time to set up the mini-amp). Once I got my couch hum to the desired level, I slowly turned the gain control on my powered subwoofers by about 1/5 every 15 minutes until they were playing just the bass notes I needed for my movie experience. You can then increase and decrease the DB output on the receiver on the fly during movie playback, and both buttkickers and subwoofers will be scaled accordingly. Buttkickers do well 30% of the time there's action on screen, so don't get obnoxious as they can be really distracting and ruin the experience. They need subtle but strong strokes when they need to be there. I don't normally write reviews but since I did a lot of research and homework I thought this might help someone. Also install them on thinner sofa tops as the large frame absorbs most of the vibration and the buttkickers work too hard to move the sofa.
