One of the cheapest options. You get what you pay for.

I thought I needed the most cost effective option for a one time job. In my experience, here's the difference between a $10 and $100 chain tool. This tool is cheaply made. Its mechanism is functional but not smooth or precise. Aligning a tool on a road bike chain is challenging due to the tool's size and poor grip. Although the kit comes with two drive bits, none are long enough to push out the chain pin on a 520 bike. It was a huge pain to get it halfway out. This tool was the wrong choice for the job. It will probably be fine for occasional use on smaller chains, like a bicycle or mini bike. I planned to use this tool just to shorten the chain and then install the master link with the clip until I could visit the shop for a riveted chain. substitute. After learning from the dealer that the job would cost $65, I spent $90 on a shop quality "PBR" chain tool to install the riveted link myself. The high quality tool made the job so smooth I wish I had bought it in the first place. Now I have a tool for life that is easy to use. You get what you pay for.
