Although thinner than most other boots on the market, they work well for protection during the hot summer months. The top is a breathable mesh, which keeps your dog's paws from overheating. The velcro strap is long and holds well. The bottoms of the boot are thin, but provide adequate protection from hot asphalt and concrete as well as grip on hardwood/tile floors.The boots do occassionally rotate on the paw, but it only takes a second to turn it back into the correct position.The fact that these boots fit "hare-footed" dogs (Borzoi, Afghan, Greyhound, etc.) well worth the trade off for the few deficiencies they have. They may not last as long as the heavier duty styles out there, but they also DO NOT COST as much! They are reasonably priced so purchasing multiple sets does not break your bank account.Almost forgot.the inner seams are soft and haven't caused any rub spots so far, but as with any boot, you should ALWAYS check your dog's paws and never leave them on for hours at a time without periodically checking their paws.
