I bought three - one was 2 degrees. higher than the other two in the area, hence the -2 edge is marked. The problem is that I have no idea if -2 or the other two are correct, although I found using a Taylor instant meat thermometer that the two were closer to correct in comparison. In any case, they were able to tell that my new LG French Door/Floor Freezer, model LFX25978SW, had intermittent internal cooling in the fridge section - food on the left was frozen, as was everything in the vegetable/fruit drawers, while the right remained at the level of the 1940s. While accuracy is questionable, the thermometers worked enough to get the fridge repaired under warranty and now the temperature is fairly consistent throughout the fridge. The freezer works great and is -10F. Since the ice maker is too small, the money saved on the purchase was simply spent on a portable ice maker to top up, since the ice maker in the refrigerator cannot keep up with even a one-person household. Check that they correspond to the temperature of the replaced refrigerator in different areas of the interior of the refrigerator. I would recommend it cheap. Verification method, but will spend more money on certified thermometers in the future.
