I bought this because the 8"x34" from the local hardware store had it milled around my front door. It's definitely the right size for a door BUT it's considerably thinner. It comes with 10 screws that are flush with the panel, but DO NOT over tighten the screws as this will buckle the panel and create "ripples" on the outside. So just press them down slightly. Another disappointment is that it's not a smooth 'bright brass', but rather a soft matte look. This can make it difficult for me to choose door locks as I really want a smooth shiny brass handle. I may have to replace the panel.
