Review on Ninja ST101 Slot Toaster Oven by Matthew Shankar

Great car but it needs to be an inch longer

I wanted to love this Ninja Foodi Flip Toaster but right now I just love it. It has a downside (literally) that doesn't make it as useful as we'd like. You will notice in the pictures that the two bagels are side by side in the toaster slots. I can't fit two slices of bread in this slot as it's not long enough, less than 1 inch. If this flip toaster slot was just an inch longer, that would be awesome. My bread (which I bake in a bread machine) is only about two inches wide. You can bake a smaller loaf or buy a smaller loaf from a store that fits two slices side by side. The overall size of the inner pan is 9.5" x 5.5". However, there is a raised cooking area and a recessed rim around it, and the raised area measures approximately 8.25 by 4.75 inches. Aside from not being long enough, I like this machine for small items. It toasts very well, and if I cut a piece of bread and put two slices in the slot, they both toast evenly, which really impressed me. The buttons are easy to use and very intuitive. Toaster mode tells me how long it takes - and counts down - for the selected level of browning. The oven/grill mode also has a countdown and is easy to add. In oven mode, since I can't see the food being cooked, I can pull the pan out to take a look and the timer will stop, then I put the pan back in and the timer will go off. The device is easy to store away. I put it in oven mode and put the baking sheet back in place, then turn the unit upside down. I have one more small remark. The handle of the oven tray is a bit awkward. It's in two pieces and I've clipped them together but they always hang around a bit. It doesn't look like it's going to fall apart, but it's still falling off a bit. Also keep in mind that the pan is not fully non-stick. I have to soak it a bit to get it all off, but so far everything has come out complete and clean. I like to make sandwiches with melted cheese and tomatoes. I toast two slices of bread (cut to size), then turn the toaster on to oven mode, place the slices on a baking sheet with more cheese and fresh tomato slices, and bake for a few minutes. It's so easy in this car and they've turned out so well.

Cons
