Review on WIX Filters 51551: Highly Durable Spin-On Hydraulic Filter [1-Pack] - Effective Filtration System by Ryan Eastman

This Wix hydraulic spin-on filter is a direct replacement for the dirty hand tool separator. I have a 22 ton model that exceeded my expectations and is a great splitter. I used this Wix filter #51551 as well as Baldwin filter #BT839-10. Both filters are of excellent quality and have had no problems. One reviewer said this filter didn't want to be screwed onto its DHT splitter. Sometimes I have to turn the filters counter-clockwise a bit to get the threads right. You'll know you're ok as it spins without effort or resistance until it hits the rubber pad. If you feel it won't turn easily, DO NOT force it and slide the filter over the cross threads. Before installing a new filter, it is recommended that you apply some hydraulic fluid to the threads and rubber seal. Hope that helps!
