This is a great bacon press. I've wanted one for a long time and had to choose between the smaller rectangular press and this nice big round press. It fills my entire pan nicely so each slice of bacon is compressed. The press heats up and cooks the bacon even faster. I also see it would be great as a sandwich press or on the grill. It heats up and the handle is wood so it heats up too so you need a hot pad to handle it but it will be the same as any other press I've looked at so I'll go go ahead and put 5 stars and suggest that the manufacturer consider using a silicone pen to see if that fixes the problem. I always read the one star rating to see negative comments and to be honest I have to say that anyone who puts cast iron cookware in the dishwasher is a complete idiot and should not own good cookware.
