Review on ๐ŸŽฎ CYBER ยท grip rubber coating (for Nintendo 3DS LL) by Brent Peterson

Great grip but could have a better grip

This grip adds some bulk to the console which is important here. It feels great in my hands and takes a lot longer to clench than it takes to hold the console itself. It turned some games that I thought were completely unplayable (action platformers) back into normal games! The dual-cartridge case on the back is a nice touch too, as it makes it easier to pack in three games that you could reasonably play on the go. I find the flap opens easily enough - with some resistance, but no problem - and closes securely. The lid also supports the device, adding the perfect angle to play when it's on the desk or table in front of me. The parts that hold the console in place seem to work just like they did when I first got them, they're pretty tight but don't hold the console perfectly. Since gravity usually works in its favor, I've never had an issue with the tiny distance between the handle and the console. The handle forces you to reach for the shoulder buttons (and I have long fingers) and the overall shape doesn't seem to have been designed to fit the hands well. Yes, you can reach the shoulder buttons with your index fingers if you place your middle fingers on the lugs on the grip, but then the way your hands rotate feels uncomfortable on the grip. This is only a small disadvantage, because of course you can easily change the position of your hands after pressing the button on your shoulder (many games don't use them that often). Another downside is that you cannot access the stylus slot with this grip. I wish they would just design it with pen access as it doesn't look like it would be very difficult.
