I really didn't want to mount the spare tire that high but I couldn't stand the loss of space in the fridge and had to be able to see it from behind. It fits perfectly. Do yourself a favor and loosen the cage a bit and it snaps straight up. I had to modify the roof by cutting out a piece along the radius of the tire. If your roof only goes to the back of the cage, you're fine. I can see behind me perfectly now, the damn tire is off and I didn't notice any difference when she was up there. Win, win, win.
