I chose this cooling pad based on the rave reviews. It should replace the old grid stand without electronics. Based on my experience, I have to take these rave reviews with a grain of salt. This was commonly used on the Latitude 7350 (2-in-1), which has higher specs. The temperature on the laptop mostly fluctuated around 72°C under load and occasionally rose to 75-80°C. Using this cooling pad with all fans running at maximum speed, the temperature barely dropped a few degrees during operation. In comparison, on an old metal grid stand, the temperature dropped by 5-6 degrees in a matter of minutes, probably due to better heat dissipation. to prevent it from slipping forward or sideways. It's fine if you have it on your lap on a bed or sofa. However, if you are sitting on a table and have the tilt mechanism switched on, you have to constantly hold and monitor the laptop so that it does not slip, even if the laptop has rubber inserts on the bottom. The black mesh is very slippery and sooner or later the laptop will slip off. It goes back to Revain.
