Decent TL camera, camera size. LONG battery life. Requires adjustment for each shot.

I've been shooting time lapse for decades now and this new generation of cameras makes it really reliable. But - setup is required. If you look at my sample video, this is a day and night clip. Everything was fully automated. Both clips are too bright. There is a setting for that. To shoot the "Keeper" you need to adjust the exposure. One thing I don't really like about any of these cameras is the mounting screws on the back. So when you mount the camera you cannot preview/align it. These are guesses. I went so far attaching my own mount to the front of the camera for accurate aiming. There are two battery compartments although I have never used the fact that for 4 batteries - only the main compartment. I've been doing time lapse for two months and the battery is still down to 70%. The camera can take photos or clips. It combines them into one AVI file. If you're shooting footage, it's traditional time-lapse. For example, when you create video clips, you might have a series of 5-second video clips in an AVI file. This gives your timelapses a completely different look. Each AVI file is divided into just over two gigabytes, you need to compile them. The FPS cannot be controlled and is locked to a really choppy 5 fps. judging by my video, it doesn't look very good. Not smooth at all. So you have to do some math to get a video that looks good in the final product. I have found that the best results are achieved when accelerating to 30 frames per second. That means you have to take more pictures. I sped up the weekly timelapse to a minute and it looks really good. So this is a good basic tool, but you need to edit a bit to get better results than the basic ones. In terms of build quality, it's decent. There are mounting threads on the bottom and back, as well as options for using a strap or bungee cords. It is 100% weatherproof. My test video was shot in the rain - nearly 8 hours of rain. I also think it's good that there is a small sunshade over the lens. It looks too small to be good, but it actually helps with highlights. Video quality is ok. There's a lot of chromatic aberration in the highlights and it has the "feel" of 720p upscaled to 1080. But it's a lot better than my 720p Brinno cameras.
