Utensil basket rusting after 6 months

I like this a lot at first as it looks nicer than most dish racks, but after 6 months the utensil basket is rusting. I followed the instructions of how to place utensils in it, and gentle washing, but the bottom of the utensil basket is rusting due to the outer coating cracking. Strangely, it is the bottom of the basket that this happened to.

Pros

The dish rack is aesthetically pleasing and will complement any modern kitchen décor

Cons

May not have a sturdy base that prevents tipping over
