This adorable animal toy set is fun and educational at the same time! From size; They are quite small, usually around 3-4 inches. Little hands can pick them up and hold them, and they don't have parts that stick together or parts that can loosen or bite off toys. That last factor makes this set a safer choice of toy for infants or toddlers in my opinion. Each animal has a small hole in its snout through which water can be sprayed. Be forewarned mums, dads and lifeguards! Please note that as liquids can enter and exit, thorough cleaning is a must to ensure the safety of this toy. As an elementary school teacher, I love the educational features that have been carefully integrated into the design of this set. While the colors of all the animals included in the set are not authentic to the species (blue koala, purple rhino, anyone?), the creators of Wild Munchkin did a great job with thoughtful and visually appealing packaging; Naming of endangered species of wildlife in English and French. They chose animals that should be familiar to most children as well as some that may not be so familiar. I think that's an incentive for curious students. Paired with an age-appropriate animal book, this set makes a great gift for children aged 9 months to 8 years. Second and Final Warning; If you have furry family members, they may be trying to "adopt" these wild animals like my rescue dog did. I can't blame her. I want to play with them myself!
