Husband cooks all the time!

My husband loves this pan. I bought it for him after he used it at his vacation rental and said he liked it. And now he uses it all the time. We've had this pan for almost a year now and we still love it. What I like about this pan: 1 - The non-stick surface is truly non-stick and very durable. It has an odd surface - it's not smooth - with a pattern on it, but it's very hard and really non-stick. It even holds metal utensils well (shrinks, I know) on a non-stick surface. 2 - heats up very quickly and can get very hot. 3 - Handles and power cord are detachable for cleaning and storage. 4 is big - big enough to cook 8 or more pancakes at a time, or 8 grilled cheese sandwiches, or six slices of bacon and four scrambled eggs. Lots of space in this pan. What I don't like about this pan: 1 - some parts feel cheap. As mentioned above, the grilling surface is great - heavy, solid, but the drip tray is cheap plastic and ours broke after a few months (no idea what happened - wasn't there at the time). The handles themselves are fine, but the clips that hold them (they're removable) feel more flimsy than they should be. (most of the time we just leave it on) 2 - the heat isn't evenly distributed across the grill. it's not that uneven; There are no cold places, only hot and hot places. You'll know where the hottest spots are pretty quickly, and you can flip your food to make sure it's fried, grilled, and melted properly. The reality is that you cook on this grill quickly, need extra care, lots of turning and so on - so you're really just moving the food around to get the even doneness you want. 3 - Cleaning is a kind of pain. : - Yes, the handles are removable and dishwasher safe (as is the drip tray), but that's all. And taking the grips off is a bit finicky. They have clips on each end of the handle that are easy to use when you set the grill up, it's cool and clean, and you can flip it. But a little more pain when it's hot and covered in bacon grease. (like I said above we basically just leave them on) - the size of the pan makes cleaning difficult. We have a kitchen sink with a hose faucet, but without it it would be quite difficult to clean. The non-stick surface is great, but the pattern I mentioned on the surface makes it a little more necessary to use a soft-bristled brush and scrape it off if you don't want bacon grease residue flavoring your grilled cheese (although, hmmm , that actually sounds good ) - Storage. This thing is no good. Even with the handles removed, it just doesn't fit in any of my closets. I thought of the top of the fridge. He ended up with a stain on the counter as if leaning against the wall. Or of course just sit on the island and get used to my husband every day, especially when I'm away. Short long review - a few flaws but I am very happy with this device.
