As a beginner, I thought prop guards were something like practice wheels and a good investment in safety. Internet forums almost unanimously advise against it due to the risk of the drone getting stuck in a branch. I think there's some truth to that, so I can only put security fences where there are no trees, which would be very rare. Build quality is good, but they are difficult to install. Snap-on connectors are difficult to snap in and out. The weight is minimal and with my Mavic Air 2 the drone can detect when they are installed. My guess is that the drone software is doing something to accommodate the guards and I don't notice any performance degradation. The bottom line (for me) is that they have limited use, so I can't recommend them. Depending on where you're flying to, they can be a useful safety feature. Only you can decide this.
