Spoon long enough to reach deep into coffee grounds container and creamer container. The spoon size is the perfect amount. I would have preferred the shape to be more like a spoon than a ladle. You can't use the end of the spoon, you have to use the sides of the trowel. The spoon shape would allow tall containers to be pushed into the bottom stack, rather than lifting the container from the side and scooping it sideways into the stack. Also, the stamped flat metal handle had sharp edges that were difficult to hold. Spent 20 minutes using a small file and fine sandpaper to remove burrs and round the edge. The shovel also had torn edges that needed refinishing. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY long handled shovel or spoon I've been able to find at Revain, so I just have to be concerned with the quality. If there was another choice I would try it before I buy it again.
