Review on ๐Ÿ” Enhanced SEO: Kaytee My First Home Tank Topper by Tammy Stephens

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Doubles the space but at a price.

The topper on the straps is theoretically a great idea. This effectively doubles the volume and with the platforms in the right places, the terrarium can be a lot more fun for your little animal. However, the only opening is at the top of the cage, so you have to reach very far to get to the bottom. To get to these spots, it's easier to remove the cage cover. In addition, the top-to-bottom distance of the entire run is large enough that the pet could be injured if it falls. Some hamsters love to climb, so this can be dangerous. To counter this, I use 3 to 5 inches of bedding as a pillow, although I'm not entirely comfortable with that risk. On the other hand, hamsters like to borrow, so the extra bedding material adds another benefit. You can also add some pipes and wire them up (long strands work well) for a quick transition from the ground to the upper levels. I also do not recommend using this on a new pet. Use the default coverage until your pet gets used to you, especially if you're trying to tame them to the point of being handled. You have to remove the top frequently, which can be tedious. The tank topper can be used later when confidence is built and the critters start coming at you.
